Grey posting about this got me thinking about the book. I read it a while back and reviewed in in episode 52. And I agree with what Grey said, the book is very well done. Rob gets us right into the thick of things from the very beginning. And he pulls you along to the end without letting up.
The big point for me was that, as a visual person, I really need to have the situations painted for me with words. And Rob did a great job of that. I was easily able to picture the characters and how they interacted, and the situations.
The only downside for me was that some of the characters were a little shallow. One is suicidal but it didn't really ring true with me. And another pair were a total dewshes that I wanted to see get eaten. Though in that case I think that was the point of their characterization.
All in all, though, the book was a great read. I kicked through it fairly quickly which, for me, is a glowing endorsement since I read like old people walk: slowly.

I read very slowly as well and I finished this fairly quickly as well. It was an easy read and the main character, Angie was extremely likable. What would have made the suicidal character sit better with me was some reasoning for his thots of suicide or maybe a scene showing how he was going to kill himself its all told in past tense or through thought processes.
Of course this is minor and doesn't really detract from the book as a whole. This was ahighly entertaining book and I will be moving on to the sequel soon in the coming months!

One of the things I liked with it was that I was familiar with some of the characters through the audio promos. Angie, Maylee, Park and Dalton all being in there, I had already put those voices to a face in my head. So when I was reading the book those pictures just bled over for me. Are you reading Ashton Memorial yet? I asked my inlaws for a copy for Xmas, and hope I have it waiting for me when we go visit them this weekend.

I haven't started reading it yet. Right now I'm reading Cemetery Things by Keith Latch which has me intrigued. There is a lot going on and it hasn't all come together for me to understand yet in the book.
The major drawback so far is the editing which is severely lacking but the story is really interesting. After that I think I will check out another F. Paul Wilson book. (he wrote The Keep) then I think I will make my way back to Ashton Memorial. Hopefully by then Robert will be almost finished with the final book in the trilogy!
Have you read Cemetery Things?

I kind of noticed the some editing needs while reading Sleepwalkers, but it didn't distract from the story at all. It might just be an editing thing: does CreateSpace have editors or do they just do the publishing for authors?

I guess I never have read a book with that many errors in it. It was especially apparent to me after having finished Lakewood which was very well put together.
I agree with you it doesn't distract entirely from the story, but there are certain paragraphs or an entire page that are either repeated or misplaced in the story and that does distract.
